Political situation during the days after 2008

Since 2008, the political phenomenon in Malaysia had revolutionized, the society had moved into more matured when it comes to anything that related to politic, analyze before action, responsible to their action, assure to what had promised; but, some’ mind had move backward, transformed to political’ cannibal, hardcore fans to their belonged political party (not alliances), more and more violence actions to their lifetime rivals.

Through my introduction, don’t jump into conclusion and determine who am I talking about, I believed “there are no cleaned political party, individual or groups, whether the political party is good or not, it is all depends on whether he or she knows how to take and share.”

Since the first protest against “unclean” electoral system in Malaysia, second “BERSIH 2.0” called more people to participate, protest/ street rally became another new trend and “must” for the activists in Malaysia.
When people rose up issue and proposed to the government, yet government gave ignorant as responses or something that not what the people wants, they the people will choose protest or street – rally as one of the options.

Sabah and Sarawak: A state or a former country?
It was standard school-time when I first learned about these 2 states. An island located at east of Malaysia, uncountable aborigines stay in the island, live in their life without any disturbances from anyone (WARNING: I read this from my text book).

Then I saw a video clip about “quit from Malaysia” on the streaming website, and found some interesting facts about this lovely Island.

Sabah and Sarawak was a country before (before the merging with peninsular, I believe every states is a kingdom). When the Malaya government proposed to merge Sabah and Sarawak together with the nation, Sabah and Sarawak handed in the 20/18 memorandum, to ensure that even the merged happened, the people’s right of Sabah and Sarawak will be prior within the boundary and they will be protected.

In the 20/18 memorandum, couple of matters had been raised up, including whether the official religion of the federal constitution shall be imply within the land of Borneo or not, the language usage in Sabah and Sarawak, Constitution law in the land of Sabah and Sarawak, the immigration matter, Borneonization of the public service, citizenship, special position of indigenous races, education system, the matter of land, forests and local government. Sabah had given a 20-point memorandum, while Sarawak had given 18.

It was something very important to the group, before the “Formation of Malaysia” declaration by Tunku Abdul Rahman , yet it has been ignored by the authority and then it became something that not so important already – since Sabah and Sarawak is a state under the Malaysia’ boundary.
